With summer coming to an end, and we ease into autumn, I can't help but deny the internal craving to slow down, reset and refresh. With the excitement and carefree flow of summer's energy, mixed in with the late nights and fun times with friends and family, it's easy to fall out of our routines that keep us grounded. One of the practices I love focusing on is slowing down. I don't know if you are like me, but when I feel like I have a million things going on in my life, my brain also begins to feel overwhelmed and scattered.

One practice that I invite you to try with me is finding fulfillment in ordinariness. It's so easy to take all the simple little things in our lives for granted. Especially when we are moving through our days so quickly. What if we practice slowing down everything within our lives. Slow down your breath and notice. Slow down how quickly you move your body through space and notice. Taking a simple, easy, natural, and ordinary approach to the things in your life may seem boring and unstimulating, but when we are able to find the gifts and the beauty in these tiny moments, a unique depth and richness begins to form. Our appreciation for the simplicity in our lives that we possibly overlook, begins to richen. When we are able to slow down enough, we can almost feel ourselves become one with all that surrounds us, instead of feeling like we need to rush to get things done. We begin to feel the support and the guidance from our Internal Compass. A feeling of flow and allowance can begin to wash over us.

I just heard recently this great idea of what if we turn our "have to's" into "get to's" We have to make dinner, or we have to wash the dishes, what if we begin looking at these tasks as we "get to" make dinner to nourish ourselves and those we love and we "get to" wash dishes in our homes that we have designed for ourselves when so many don't have this privilege or gift. What if we began to look at the mundane tasks like washing dishes instead of having to clean up after ourselves or someone else, we wash them with love and intention, knowing that we love the next person who will use these dishes and we want to care deeply for those we have allowed to enter our lives.

Practice taking a moment each day, even if it is just for a few breaths to step outside, put your bare feet on the earth and welcome the warm sun on your skin. Close your eyes and just breathe 3 slow, deep breaths. I know it sounds cliche but take a moment to take in your surroundings. Listen to the sounds clearly and let them speak to you. Taken in the scents, feel the breeze. Connect deeply and meaningfully with your surroundings. The actions we take speak to our internal state of being.

Grounding ourselves in the day-to-day simplicities and routines creates a sense of security and calm in the mind and nervous system which then allows us to drift into our creative state. Do you care to join me in a practice of slowing down and moving through our days with deliberate intention and mindfulness? Join me for my group Reset & Refresh Online Workshop September 10-17th. Meet and connect with other like-minded individuals and hold yourself accountable to feeling good. Watch for the signup email to follow! I hope to see you there!

Forgive Everything With Tremendous Love!!

"What a different full moon energy this moon is giving off than the first! Soon the seasons will shift into autumn, perhaps we are already feeling that shift. Saturn is conjuncting the Moon, giving our usual dreamy and emotional pisces energy, some roots to materialize our dreams or ground that energy deeper into ourselves somehow. Pluto and Neptune are still in sextile, both in retrograde doing their thing of making emotions more readily on top, use this time to allow things to come to the surface, and soften." ~ Tammy Kim of Body Plant Sky

From the The Power Wish, by Keiko, Japan's leading astrologer, she believes that full moons are a great time to release, let go and express gratitude. When journaling in regard to a full moon, she recommends beginning with anchoring statements such as "I am grateful that" or "I am grateful for" and end with "Thank you so much". It's great to also write about things you have not yet received as though they have already come to you in this same manner.

She writes that the energy of a Full Moon in Pisces is a great time to help you release:

  • Carelessness

  • Unhealthy lifestyles

  • Addiction

  • Cowardice

  • Paranoia

  • Dead-end relationships

Some of the questions she offers to help you find clues when you don't know what to write about are:

  • What is something that happened in the past that was traumatic for you?

  • What is something you keep avoiding because you don't want to face it?

  • What is something you become dependent on when under stress?

  • What would you like to manifest with the help from the invisible?

  • What is the best life you can picture in your mind?

With this month's second full moon being not only a blue moon but also a super moon, we are in for a powerful energetic experience and you may have already been noticing the shift over the last few days! I always feel so uncomfortable when I start looking at negative lifestyle changes I should bring into awareness but love taking the time at least once, in this case twice a month to hold myself accountable and take a good look at where I am in comparison to where I see myself going and ask myself. Are these life choices taking me closer to or further away from my future I am building? Usually, the discomfort means I'm on the right track!

Best of luck releasing what no longer serves you and moving forward a more light and free self!

All the love,

Pamela

What is neuroplasticity? Neuroplasticity, also known as neural plasticity, or brain plasticity, is the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization. It is when the brain is rewired to function in some way that differs from how it previously functioned. Doctor Joe Dispenza refers to neuroplasticity as “neurons that fire together, wire together.” This is part of the process in rewiring the brain.

In January 2022 I took Dr. Joe Dispenza's Progressive and Intensive Online Course and it transformed the way I approached change and life in general. He is dedicating his life to popularize the possibility as well as acquire the scientific proof that we can change our lives by changing our thoughts and feelings. He talks a lot about epigenetics and has a whole special on Gaia that you can watch. Epigenetics is the study of how environmental factors can influence the expression of our genes. Dr. Joe believes that our beliefs and emotional state are powerful environmental factors that can impact our gene expression.

"Neuroscience has proven that we can change our brains just by thinking differently. Through the concept of mental rehearsal (to repeatedly imagine performing an action), the circuits in our brains can reorganize themselves to reflect our very intentions. In one study, people who mentally rehearsed one-handed finger exercises two hours a day for five days demonstrated the same brain changes as people who physically performed the same movements. To put this into perspective, when we are truly focused and single minded, the brain does not distinguish between the internal world of the mind and the external environment."

"Back to the concept of change. If emotions brand experiences into long-term memory, then when we are faced with current obstacles in our life that require thinking and acting in new ways, and we use familiar feelings as a barometer for change, we will most certainly talk ourselves out of our ideal. Think about this. Our feelings reflect the past. But to change is to abandon past ways of thinking, acting and feeling so that we can move into the future with a new outcome. To change is to think (and act) greater than how we feel. Emotions like fear, worry, frustration, greed, and self- importance are familiar feelings that, even in the midst of transformation, if we decide to succumb to, will surely point us in the wrong direction."

"Can we then begin to contemplate change for ourselves? To learn to think independently of the barrage of environmental stimuli is a skill that, when properly executed, will change the brain, the mind, and the body to prepare us for the future. The art of self-reflection may seem as if it is dying in a technological culture that saturates us with so much information that we become addicted to the external world to stimulate our own thinking. How free are we? Most are lost without the thrill of entertainment, text messaging, phone calls, and the Internet. To make the time to meditate, to plan our future, to mentally rehearse the behaviors we want to change and to think about new ways of being will surely advance us beyond our predictable genetic destiny."

~Dr. Joe Dispenza

This topic was so helpful for me to understand the science of change, patterns, choices. I couldn't think of a better person to bring all this information into light. I don't know about you, but I love the idea that we have the ability to change the course of our lives and reprogram our minds with meditating and planning the future you want and see for yourself. Allowing our heartfelt feelings to be what guide us. Feel and see the experience and draw it to us. This is not a one-step solution of course. Good intentions are the start, action is what puts things into motion. Too often we wait for our external environment to change the way we feel to motivate us to make better choices. I love the practice of reverse-engineering this and starting with gratitude and the thoughts, feeling and emotions to initiate the shift.

I wish you all an open, joyful, passionate heart as you navigate your journey!

All the love,

Pamela
